Schedule of Events

Check-in and registration will be held Thursday, April 3rd and Friday, April 4th from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. Boat numbers will be assigned in the order they are received by the tournament director. Saturday, April 5th at safelight the tournament will get underway.

Morton Marine “Take the Ride” Bonus Award

Take a demo ride Thursday, April 3, or Friday, April 4, 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM in a new SKEETER/Yamaha and get your name placed in a drawing for $1,000 CASH. Don’t forget you can visit mortonmarine.com for more information on a new SKEETER rig.

All 2008 Great Catch contestants will be entered in a drawing to win a new Skeeter SX180, equipped with a Yamaha F115, Lowrance Electronics and MotorGuide Trolling Motor boat/motor/trailer package valued at $21,000

When the team that wins the boat is announced, if both team members took the Morton Marine Demo Ride, they will win a new Skeeter ZX190, equipped with a Yamaha V150, Lowrance Electronics and MotorGuide Trolling Motor boat/motor/trailer package valued at $27,000.

KEYSTONE CHEVROLET “RIDE TO WIN”

Keystone Chevrolet representatives will be present to give demo rides in the best of the new Chevrolet trucks and tow vehicles. Take a ride and get your name placed in a drawing for $500 CASH. BIG BUCKS FOR TRUCKS PROGRAM

Keystone Chevrolet will award $1,500 CASH to the winning team if at least one of the two team membes fishing the Great Catch Open has purchased a vehicle from Keystone Chevrolet within the past six (6) years and still owns said vehicle.  If the winner does not own a Keystone vehicle, the top place finisher in a Keystone vehicle will be awarded $500.


EARLY ENTRY BONUS

If entry is received at Morton Marine by 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 5, contestants will receive a bonus tackle pack provided by A & M Baits as well as getting their choice in flight.  Contestants will pick 1st, 2nd, and 3rd choice of flights, with earlier entrants getting their first choice.  The earlier the entry is received the most likely they will get their first choice in flight, plus guaranteeing the availability of the tackle pack and correct shirt size.  Late entries may not receive tackle packs at the tournament.

TOURNAMENT

Saturday, April 5th, the Great Catch Open competition will get underway going out of Martin Landing on Grand Lake.


Tackle Pack

Each team entering the tournament will receive a tackle pack which includes:

  • 2 American Eagle Rods
  • 2 BooYah Spinnerbaits
  • 2 Bomber Crankbaits
  • 2 Yum Soft Plastics
  • 2 BooYah Jigs
  • 2 Great Catch Open T-Shirts

Entry

Tournament fees are $200 per team. Each team must submit their entry fees along with their completed entry form. All contestants must read and sign a release waiver before participation in The Great Catch Open will be allowed. Any participant can fish alone at the full entry fee.

Check-In/Take Off

All entries must check in at the on Thursday, April 3rd or Friday, April 4th to receive sponsors’ tackle packs, boat numbers, official start times and weigh-in times. No tackle packs will be distributed the day of the tournament. Boat numbers will be assigned in the order the entries are received. Entry verification will be updated with assigned team numbers and posted weekly for viewing on the SKEETER website at www.skeetertour.com. A team may launch the morning of the tournament from any ramp on the lake and begin fishing at their designated start time. Start times and weigh-in times will be staggered accordingly to give each team an equal amount of time to fish. Each team will be given a colored ribbon at check-in time that designates their official start time. The ribbon must be tied to the trolling motor in plain view. No team has claim to any given water until their assigned start time. Each team will receive a schedule of start times specifying which colors apply to which start time. Each team will be on the honor system for starting time and livewell check. Polygraph tests will be given.
