COUPLES TOURNAMENT PHOTOS -- Grand Lake July 20, 2008

The fourth and final regular stop of the 2008 year for the H&H/Morton Marine Couples Trail was Grand Lake.  The tournament was originally scheduled for June but due to high water we had to move it to this weekend.  The weather was getting extremely hot and we had to move our tournament limit to four fish due to GRDA regulations.

We had 51 teams come out and enjoy a great day of fishing.  There were 32 limits caught with an average weight of 2.81 lbs with several big fish being weighed. We also want to thank everyone for taking extra care of the fish during some extremely hot weather.

When the scales came to a close the first place team of Jim and Chantell Moss   won with 4 fish that weighed 16.11 lbs to claim the $1500 prize.  The team stayed in the mid-lake area.  Fishing top-water first thing in the morning and then focusing on make lake points throughout the day to come up with their impressive limit of fish.

The team of Jimmy and Rachael Keeter had 4 fish that weighed 15.42 lbs for second place and $850.  They also caught some of their fish early on top-water and as the day warmed up focused on main lake points.  Jimmy also had Men's Big Bass of 6.07 lbs that paid another $300.

The third place team was Chris and Melissa Torkelson who had 4 fish that weighed 14.72 for $750.  The team also revealed they had caught a limit early on top-water and then moved out to main lake points later in the day.  Melissa also had Ladies Big Bass and it weighed 4.40 lbs which paid an additional $400.

LAKE CHANGE FOR COUPLES TRAIL.  CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFORMATION!

April 16, 2008

Skeeter Tour for April 20th at Grand is still on at this time.  We have been in constant contact with GRDA and the estimated lake level should be that we can have the tournament as scheduled at Martin's Landing.  We will be watching the predicted thunderstorms tomorrow, the 17th, and may have to re-evaluate on Friday if lake conditions change.  We will notify everyone as soon as possible that has entered and post on the Basszone message board as well as this website if anything changes.  The conditions will not be ideal and be prepared to "get your feet wet" during the weigh-in, but we have been assured that we should have no safety issues.  We will hold take off to around 7 a.m. to make sure everyone can see any "floaters" that may still be around.  We will have the trailer at Martin's on Saturday around noon for anyone who needs to enter or check in with any questions.

We appreciate everyone's patience and are looking forward to seeing you this weekend!

If you have any questions, please call Rod at 918-639-4442.

COUPLES TOURNAMENT RESULTS -- Keystone Lake March 30, 2008

COUPLES TOURNAMENT PHOTOS -- Keystone Lake March 30, 2008

Owasso, OK---The first stop of the 2008 year for the H&H/Morton Marine Couples Trail was Keystone Lake.  We had planned to fish earlier in the month but due to high water and unsafe conditions we had to move lakes.   The lake was a little high but alot of fishermen talked of doing quite in practice with the warm week but on Sunday it cooled off and rained off and on all day.

The fish were just starting to move up with the warm week and it showed with several nice fish being weighed.  The first place team of Kip and Susie Morrow had 5 fish that weighed 15.32 lbs to claim the $1700 prize.   The team's winning pattern was fishing shallow bushes on big rocky points on secondary points in 1-2 ft. of water.  The team used a chart/white chatter-bait to catch all of their fish.

The team of Rodney and Kylie Maynard had 5 fish that weighed 12.53 lbs for second place and $1100.  They were also fishing bushes on secondary points and in the back of the pockets.  They used a white/chart Hart spinner-bait to catch their fish.

The third place team was Ed and Khristy Broadrick who had 5 fish that weighed 12.40 lbs for $800.  They caught their fish in the back of pockets and secondary points  on spinnerbaits and jigs.

Earl Collins had Men's Big Bass of 6.02 lbs that paid $300. Ladie's Big Bass went to Kalli Clark who weighed  a 3.72 which paid $400.

At weigh-in Legends Barbeque provided the food for us and like always it was outstanding.  There were tons of prizes given away by all of our wonderful sponsors, including a locator from Lowrance, a Continental battery, a second rod from American Eagle Rods, and tackle packs from Pradco and exercise equipment from Go Fit as well as gift certificates from Okie Bait and Tackle and Nabatak.  Other sponsors include H&H Marine, Morton Marine, Daylight Donuts, Keystone Chevrolet, and Get Out of Town Travel.

We want to thank everyone for coming out and fishing and also a huge thanks to all of our sponsors.  Our next tournament will be at Lake Hudson on April 19th and we will be launching ot of Snowdale Park.  For more information, contact Bob Maner at 918-906-5140.

Tulsa, OK -- Once again, the Skeeter/Yamaha Tour promises to be one of the biggest tournament circuits in the region with $20,000 cash guaranteed to 1st place, $10,000 cash guaranteed to 2nd place , $1,500 cash guaranteed big bass and a 1 per 4 payout in each regular season event.  In addition to this payout anglers that meet certain qualifications can increase their winnings through the Skeeter Real Money Program, Keystone Chevrolet Big Bucks for Trucks Award Program and the Lowrance Bonus Award Program.  Details on this bonus program can be found on the Skeeter Tour website and in the Skeeter Tour brochure.

The Skeeter/Yamah 2008 Tour kicks off the season at Lake Eufaula on March 16th out of Eufaula Cove.  The Tour Staff will be at the north pavilion at noon on Saturday, March 15th to take entry fees and hand out lures, t-shirts and hot dog tickets to the participants.  Entries received after 6:00 PM will be subject to the late fees and flight penalties as outlined in the official rules. Participants are encouraged to attend the non-mandatory meeting at 7:00 PM on Saturday evening to receive their take-off number, weigh-in time and any other last minute changes.  Take-off will be safe light which is anticipated to be approximately 7:30 AM.  Off limits for this event will be all of Eufaula Cove from the rock jetty straight across to the south bank.  There wil be a check-in boat for those participants that wish to launch at a different ramp and come to Eufaula Cove via water.

This event is shaping up to be another great tournament. The bass at Eufaula are well known for their early spring migrations to the bank. The big wildcard is the weather. If a big cold front moves through day or two before the tournament , then fishing could be tough.  Conversely, if the weather is stable and warm, then it will likely take 20+ lbs to win and a solid limit in the teens to get a check. Winning patterns could range from working suspending jerkbaits over deep, clear water jigs or finesse worms to spinnerbaits in shallow off-colored water.  Also, this is the time of the year that the biggest smallmouth bass are caught at Eufaula.  A team could do very well with a solid limit of smallmouth or a big 6 lb. kicker smallmouth.  On behalf of the Skeeter Tour staff and all the sponsors, thanks to all the participants and we look forward  to your participation this year.

-Rob Wadley
